Greatly impacted by Pastor Tan's opening sermon about the Parable of the Sower.

Most of us focus a lot on the 4 different conditions of ground when reading this parable.When we sow into something,we are wary that there may be a chance for the seed to land on an unfruitful ground.This causes us to sow with only 25% of our faith level because only 1\4 of the ground listed is fertile.However,we must realize that other than the condition of the soil, there is also a Seed and more importantly, the Sower.There is no fixed conditions of the soil.The conditions of the soil reflects our mindset of the Sower.As we keep and open mind and have faith in His goodness,we automatically transform our situations into fertile ground.That's when the Sower comes in and scatters his Seeds and will be sure to reap 30,60,100 fold!This is why it's called the Parable of the Sower,not Parable of the Soil.How much you are going to receive is according to your attitude towards your situation!

This week is a very free week for me. Felt so much more encouraged. I've been watching an average of 2 movies everyday. I like movies that are inspirational. Movies that melts my heard and makes me leave pondering about what more can i do with my life. And just yesterday, i came upon one of the best movies i've ever watch-- INVICTUS

Was riding along an expressway 2 days ago and saw 2 accidents happening before my eyes. Totally conviced that CAR is the way to go, not the 2 wheels machine. I do not want to risk my life and the people whom i'm fetching.

God is good. And i believe when He has called you into doing something, He'll sure make a way for you to do it. My building fund amount seems to be impossible for me to complete but now, i think i can fufill the pledge within 2 months!

I told myself that i must sleep by 11pm. Looks like that ain't gonna happen. I dun wanna waste my book out time. i just hope tonight will just drag on forever and i dun have to go for the recce course...arggg 2 months of bad treatment. God i need strength and an open mind to endure the demanding training that is about to come.

Confinement tmr, not actually angry with anyone since i really committed a mistake. Just regretted not following instructions. Counted myself lucky to be still able to attend cellgroup and service this week. Really NEED to soak myself in the presence of God to feel comforted. Not that i dun pray and seek God in my weekdays but i always enjoy worshipping in a congregation and i cant wait for service this SUN. Already got my breakthrough this year by having financial freedom and i gotta feelin that there'll be something even greater for me when Dr John comes..You'll surely reap what you sow!

Yesterday's service was good stuff. Spent my night at home jotting down my thoughts in a very nice/colourful/cute notebook. Not gonna go into the details but the main point is i needa maximise my life so that the people whom i'm connected to will also be able to function at their fullest potential. Around 3 more hrs to my book in. Will be unwillingly making my way into the gates of sispec.

Many people assume that being a rugger, i'm used to the rough and tough and will be breezing through army like Chuck Noris. But no, i do have my struggles and i definitely have no passion in soldiering. The reason why i still wear my belt and tuck in my polo shirt and walk into camp every week is because i am fulfilling my duty as a Singapore man. After living peacefully in this nation for 19 years, it's my turn to take up the responsiblity of defending her for the next 19 years until the next generation of soldiers come along. Looks like i'm brainwashed well by the system.

After serving for close to 4 months, it also means that i'm soaked in 4 months of constant hurling of vulgarities. I'm proud that till now i've yet to scold a single **** or whatever your pure mind can think of. But then i have to admit that there are times when things get so tough that i'm almost reaching my limits. These are times when your character is put to the test. As a future commander/leader , you are trained to be dominant and aggressive. It's very natural for you to become agitated and start to raise your voice when things are not going your way. In my opinion, aggressiveness is only on the outward. It may even be just a cover up for the insecurities inside you. True leaders are those who have confident within. Who remain calm under stressful conditions and focus enough to make the right decisions when the situation seems chaotic. This will ultimately lead the team to success, not screaming and yelling and expect people to follow you.

The "beautiful thing" i've picked up since enlistment is 2 words- Suck Thumb. When decisions are made against your will. Just suck thumb and move on. No point dwelling on it cause you'll never get what you want (only applies in army). Smile and stay positive, life still has to go on. I thank God for good section mates. These are people who suck thumb together with me. If not for the promise i made to them about not taking MC this week, i'll have more time to reflect about my NS life.

A Brief Reflection

I'm into the last lap of BMT. It's amazing how fast time passes. I thank God for friends both in camp and those outside camp who never fail to enocourage me throughout these past few months. Every call and sms counts even though sometimes i'm too tired and doze off while sms-ing halfway. My section mates are also fun people. We are all worrying about our future and also missing loved ones. Maybe that is why we get bonded very quickly when we open up and share our thoughts and concerns with each other.

ahhh i think i have lost my ability to stay up late. Shall end with one of my Section's favourite song.

13 April is coming soon. When i enter army, there are bound to be challenges. I don't think it'll be very tough yet i'm also warned that things are not that easy either. Anyhow, I believe that NS is a test of faith.

My first impression was that it is a parting song. Sad and all so i checked out the meaning and here it is.

Something might have triggered writing this song, but it's not just about a relationship or death or a certain turning point, it's about life in general, and everything that's in it. The song is full of lines of eternal wisdom, like "so, make the best of this test and don't ask why - it's not a question, but a lesson learned in time". Indeed, when we go through hard times, we often ask a higher being, ourselves and everyone around "Why? Why did this happen to me?" But we never get the answer, because "it's not a question, but a lesson learned in time" - something we're supposed to find out as we go through life. "So take the photographs and still frames in your mind" - memories is something we need to hold on to at any point in life because they can get you through anything and make you realize that "for what it's worth it was worth all the while". After 4 days 3 nights of chalet, it feels good to be back sleeping on my bed..

As the majority of people there are guys, there is a serious lack of pictures being taken. Only got a couple to shots during BBQ, some random pictures, a few more of ME sleeping and several videos of us snoring. shall upload them soon.

Morning prayer meeting is kicking off again. I really like waking up ultra early and giving/receiving morning calls and sharing cab down and praying and having breakfast together. Kind of exciting.

Ohh and the main event for tmr is watching A Division Saints Rugby opening match. Awesome stuff!

Stayed up last night to watch the 6 Nations Title decider match. Wales took on Ireland.

It was an exciting and even contest. I think both sides fought really well. The title even had to be decided at the last min when Wales missed a 50m penalty kick!! ( i did that only once in training, with the wind on my side).

I've made up my mind to start joining the current JC team for trainings. Since today is my last day at work, i'll have loads of time to help the A div boys win our title back! At the same time, i can lose that belly and get ready for arrrrmmmmeeeeeee.

Anw, was kinda psyched up while watching this pre-match talk.. Yes, it's WWE, it's fake, it's only a storyline..But i think i can relate to the competitors pretty well. You know like before you go into a big match, during your psyche up sessions. You get really charged up till you feel like you can take on the whole world. After reading this book, got reminded about my life. From playing in the humble Novice Finals to Plates Finals and most recently the Cup Finals. 2008 has been a hectic year for me. Juggling studies, rugby and church commitments. Things are never easy given that i should have been retained last year. Even now, i'm still uncertain about my results and about my future.

2008 is a year of moulding for me. I feel that i've learned many things for eg. seasons in life. There's a time for everything, a time to play, a time to stay focus on more important things. I was also tested in my perseverance. In the midst of a valley experience, all i did was to hang onto a few Promises and keep on walking. Discouragements will and have come but i'm grateful for people around who never fail to build me up. Was always reminded that it is alright to fail, as long as you don't give up and you keep on trying. One day, you'll get what you want. One of the most memorable things that happened this year was the honour to play in the Police Cup finals. Since Secondary school days, playing in a Cup final with the whole school supporting sounds like a farfetch dream. Now i've tasted that experience...and i hunger for more.

2009 is drawing ever closer. An amazing thing that is happening is that my parents are kind of letting go. I guess it's time to become more independent. I don't think i'll be setting many goals in 2009. i wanna set just a few and make sure i achieve them all. One of them is to be financially independent from my parents and also to set aside quality time for my family. NS is also coming. Was reminded by a friend that "your life does not stop during NS". so yeap, made it a point to be active in church to the best of my ability.

Yup! Many good and bad things happened in 2008. I'm pleased that i end off this year as a stronger and better person compared to last year. I don't usually blog out so much of my thoughts. But this time round just hope that years later, when i look back at this entry, i can say that i've moved from strength to strength, glory to glory, and that none of my past experiences have been wasted. Would like to end off with Romans 8:28

Well. not quite since we still have to return to sch soon for the (A)ce level Papers. Even though i dun really feel attached to SAJC, there are still people to be thankful for and memories to be reminisced. Ahh but all these will be in another post when i'm REALLY outta dis skool.

So it all started with yours truly being late for farewell assembly.. Due to the classic reason that bus 985 met with a jam. A video of every class was played. My class was excluded. WHY?!?! Also, are we suppose to feel emotified during this very last assembly?anw, this was what my class was doing. Wonder where are all the guys...

After the oh-so-emo college hymm, went back to home room, C101 ( best class with designs dating back to last year) to collect free goodies from various teachers and then it's time to spam the cameras!!!

ChenYang got a blog! The Chinese hunk who loves American sports like Softball, Baseball and American football. Used to play quarter-back for his American footie team and recently switched to Softball. Now he's always spotted with his gloves and that not so soft "softball". He also picked up swimming and gyming this year. It's easy for him since he has the motivation to exercise ^^right? To hang around people of his common interest.

Just came back from soccer with GLENN rooney, JON van poooosy, BRON fernando, BREN cristiano, CY buffon and john EDWIN terry. Not forgetting theo KENN fabregas. We are thinking of joining asian conference football challenge. The conference starts on 19th NOV ( if i'm not wrong) and A level ends on the 18th. What a timing! There's no time for post exam breaks but i feel there are still lots of E in me since i've been slacking for the past one year.

I agree with Melvin that the best motivator is ourself. We all have our own dreams and visions. But when the odds are against us and those dreams become bleak, how many will be willing to hold on to that little amount of faith left and trust in His higher plan. To say that even if all else fail, i will still put my trust in You because I know that i will never be alone in this. Indeed if we can trust Him in our salvation, what else can we not trust Him in? Yes i'm very blessed to have quite a number of poly students in my CG. Jon,Bron,CY,JY,MJ and many many many more(seeing with my spiritual eyes). They are all enjoying their sch holiday right now while I suffer through this so called "study break". Anw, have been crashing ngee ann to study and spending lots of time with the ngee ann-ians(onions) or whatever you call them. Did i mention this before? They are very hospitable people.

The Wallabies are playing the AllBlacks for tri-nations. not sure the exact date though. dun wanna miss this one.

Was talking to Irtiza this morning. Told me that he gained 5kg after our season. It was great encouragement for me cause i gained just 4kg from start of the year. Have been receiving comments that i'm putting on weight. It's not a bad thing you know. (If it's muscle mass.)

Finally, got the break i wanted. Went to Derek place in the evening. Rented movies. Just like what we did during O levels. study first and then go to someone house to relax..Prince of Egypt, Aladdin.. what's next? Snow white and the seven dwalves?! Bro bought a pet bird. Something like a parrot. Budgie to be exact. His name is KING. And to clear any doubts, i'm not his servant. My brother is. I think it's a good chance for me to start loving animals and to overcome my Zoophobia. At least for KING. This is the closest i can get to him so far.
